Spey casting is an absolute blast and an incredibly effective way to fish. Traditionally Spey rods have been used to chase Anadromous fish. However with the advancement of light weight Trout Spey equipment, anglers can now use two hand casting techniques year round on local trout rivers. Wether you want to keep your spey skills dialed for an upcoming Steelhead trip, or just want to learn a new way to fish your local trout water—A guided Trout Spey Trip with The Grey Drake is perfect for you.

Our trips take place in the evening. Not only does this make a Trout Spey trip conveinent for local and visiting anglers alike, but it allows us to fish the best swing water in optimal conditions. There is no better way to validate the techniques learned then by feeling a grab on the end of the line. Departing from Park City, UT we have access to multiple stretches of productive swing water just a short drive away.

While most anglers interested in Trout Spey have a background in Fly Fishing for trout, no experience is needed. In fact in our opinion, there is no better way to learn to fly fish then by swinging the fly. Single Hand Spey casting techniques will be covered during the trip, opening up a whole new world of fishing with a single hand rod for both the new and experienced angler.
